Number Six is very excited to welcome Brooks, a thoroughly classic British company, to our brand family.

It all started when John Boultbee Brooks got a sore bum, amongst other things, whilst riding his new velocipede bike back in 1865. His father was a leather saddle maker for horses and, therefore, Brooks junior knew a thing or two about the craft himself. He decided that his behind would suffer no more and went about designing and crafting a leather seat in his father's workshop. In that moment, a history full of one success after another was set in motion and Brooks climbed the ladder of greatness quite quickly. Brooks junior expanded his bike saddle range over time and added many accessories along the way for the avid bike rider. To this day, his company continues to be the go-to for the best gear that lasts and lasts. Plus, Brooks don't skimp on style and detail either. Their products will make you look a modern day gent!

Of the Brooks saddle range, Number Six offers the Swift and Swallow in various colours. The Swift was the youngest gentleman's racing saddle in the Brooks range. It features hand skived low sides, a sleek leather surface with suede highlights and copper rivets and nameplate detail on the sides and back. The Swallow's design was patented as early as 1937 and was a favourite amongst the racers of the tours back in the day. It has a a slightly sleeker design than the Swallow, with rivets and nameplate on the sides and back. Also available is the ever-awesome Brooks bar tape, perfect for customising your bike bars with beautiful, perforated leather tape, and the Brooks trouser strap, to prevent your trousers getting caught in the chain ring!
