You don’t get any more English than Barbour and that’s a fact. The brand was founded in 1894 by John Barbour in the Market Place in South Shields and is a family owned business currently in its 5th generation. A lot has changed since 1894 and the company now sources its products from around the world but the classic wax jackets are still manufactured by hand in their Simonside factory in the North East of England. The brand has remained true to its core values as a family business and brings the qualities of wit, grit and glamour to its beautifully functional clothing. These values have led J. Barbour & Sons to be adopted by all segments of society. From members of the royal family such as the Duke of Edinburgh, Queen Elizabeth II and The Prince of Wales to hunters, countrymen and festival goers. The Barbour name is synonymous for its protective and waterproof qualities. Here at Number Six London we have just dropped the latest Barbour Spring/Summer collection in-store and online and there’s some fantastic pieces no matter what your looking for. Our favourite pieces include the Barbour Olive Matelot Carry On Bag which is made of the brands signature wax cotton and is perfect for those weekends away. There’s also a great selection of Barbour gloves and jumpers to keep you warm in that sudden shift in weather which we are used to in the UK. Shop the entire collection online here.
